Welcome
For examples of my previous work, please click on a site above. I am experienced in:
- XHTML & CSS
- All my designs are XHTML 1.0 Transitional and use W3C compliant CSS standards. This ensures the designs are fully accessible on every browser, and will continue to work in the future.
- PHP
- If you need a small contact form to go with your design, or a whole php based site (eg a custom CMS or arcade), I'll be able to code one for you. I also specialize in mySQL integration.
- Tableless designs
- Tables were never meant to be used for designing webpages - they were meant for displaying tabular data. That's why I never use tables for designing purposes in any of my designs.
- PSD or badly coded designs to XHTML/CSS 1.0 Transitional
- I can turn any PSD, image or poorly coded design into a fully editable XHTML/CSS design. Usually the converted designs tend to be a lot smaller in size, saving on bandwidth costs - and not having to make visitors wait.
WazooDomains
WazooDomains was a website which was developed so domain name owners could place their domains up for sale, and domain name investors could find the domain on the website and; through a message system; purchase the domain.
The system included categories, advanced search (and simple search), and domain bundles.
The admin panel was extensive. It had options to add, remove, or edit any sumbitted domain. Most domains needed approval, this system allowed the admin to approve through the administation panel. There was also a complete message system through which the admin could approve, deny, edit or send messages between the seller and the buyer.
recipeFREAK
recipeFREAK is a searchable recipe book. It holds over 10,000 recipes in a mySQL database, which can be searched through by users.
The design is 100% unique, made in CSS, and is tailored to the site exactly. The logo is 100% custom & unique.
The site includes an extensive members system, where members can keep track of their favourite recipes, submit new recipes (for approval), and much more.
Other features include download to MS Word, instant print and E-Mail to friend. Each recipe has a 5 star rating system and comments.
notifyr.org
notifyr is a simple concept. People enter a web address, and when the content of that web address changes then the script will email them.
When creating the script I came across a few problems - mainly in-page advertisements changing. I managed to find a solution which works perfectly.
Because the script only picks up text and not images, the bandwidth usage is kept to a mininum.
The design is unique, rendered in CSS and tailored to the site. The script is coded in PHP and uses mySQL to store data.
OneStepArcade
OneStepArcade is a fully admin-configurable music, videos, pictures and game arcade. Users visit the arcade to play games, watch videos, browse pictures and listen to music. It's basically a place to go when you get bored.
The design is fully CSS rendered, custom and 100% unique. It was designed to be easily edited by people who know html, so that people can develop skins and themes for the system.
The admin panel is very extensive and allows the owner of the script to add/remove/edit media (of several types), ban IPs, add/edit/remove categories, change the site's text and logo, and much much more.
turtletech
Turtletech.co.uk is a web host. I coded the design for them - and it's fully XHTML & CSS compliant.
It only uses a few images, the main structure of the design is some clever CSS. That minimizes on bandwidth costs - the overall size of the site (every image & every page) is less than 200kb - compared to the 600kb that it could be.
Included in the project was some minor script integration. I integrated popular forum software IPB 2.2, and billing/support system WHMCS.
televee
Televee is a website which enables users to watch popular TV shows through their browser. My aim of the site was to make an easy to use interface which was easy to navigate, even whilst the TV show was playing.
I also had to write several crawlers for the website to index sites such as peekvid, alluc and tv-links. The site also allows users to watch a selection of cartoons, anime and movies.
The design is one of the few dark ones that I've ever designed. I chose dark because of the contrast with the TV watching - it's very easy on the eyes (proven in multiple studies too). Due to the nature of the site, I had to use iFrames. Because of the lack of support for iFrames, I had to provide the site in two versions - one for the smaller screens, and another for the larger.
imgHUT
imgHUT is another image hosting site (like imageshack.us), but this one has an extensive user control panel. Of course people can still upload without registering, but once they register they'll get a wealth of new features.
Once they register, they have;
Complete management of personal public & private folders, ability to password protect folders to show only specific people, ability to upload up to 6 images at a time (rather than 1), ability to edit image names, descriptions and ability to delete images, permissions to rate & comment on other people's images and left-click download images
You can see an example of a public page at http://www.imghut.net/user/themoose/.
FlexBB Home Page
FlexBB is a fully fledged forum software, coded in PHP.
I coded the main page of FlexBB.net (the "landing" page), which is exactly what the FlexBB owner wanted - a page which was minimalistic, yet nice to look at. One that provided easy access to every part of the project. We both agree that this design has achieved all these things.
I also am appointed lead modifications manager, in the soon-to-be modifications site located at flexbb.org.
Dictionary.hm
Dictionary.hm is a popular "live" dictionary that loads as you type.
It features a minimalistic design to ensure lack of confusion of using the tool. The function itself is powered by Ajax, and shows you the results of the words you type, as you type them.
A sub website of this is Abrv.org, an abbreviation finder (eg FBI -> Federal Bureau of Investigation). This site is currently offline.
FunkyProxy & Other Proxies
I own and operate (and have designed) several proxies, ranging from foxyproxy.net to funkyproxy.com to browsingatschool.com. These have given me great experience in minimalistic designs.
I am one of the pioneers in web proxies, when I first started out there were only a few - now there's a hundred every way you look. I was the first person ever to use the Advanced Options (+/-) Ajax/Javascript option, which is now used in almost every customized proxy on the web.
If you wish to have a full list of my current proxies, please email me.
Shortr.net
Another Ajax site, which generates shortr URLs from the long ones you enter. Useful for links such as google maps or amazon store links.
Full XHTML/CSS design, PHP, mySQL and Ajax coding.
ClumsyKeyboard
ClumsyKeyboard is an eBay typo finder. When people want to find a cheap auction, they can type in their keywords (and fill out extra options if necessary), and the tool will generate a list of typos for them.
eBay will then load up with a list of auctions with typos in their title. Other people can't find these easily, so the bids should be low - making an easy bargain.
Unique, minimalistic design and extensive php backend including eBay affiliate links for extra revenue.
FamousArtGuy
Coded unique several page layout into a valid XHTML & CSS design.
FamousArtGuy is a professional logo designer. Whenever you see an amazing logo on one of my sites, he probably made it.
If you need a logo with your design or website that I design for you, FamousArtGuy can make you a custom, unique 100% vector logo in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.
He has an impressive portfolio located at http://www.famousartguy.com/portfolio.html.
DiggClub
DiggClub is a simple concept. Members pay (via paypal) for their digg.com URL to be posted on the website, and other members digg the link to get paid.
The script included several features such as a payment gateway - paypal - advanced profile editing, and a complete members system.
DiggClub also came with an advanced admin panel allowing the admin to approve links, edit/remove posts, change members status' and much more.
ice9online
Complete XHTML/CSS design, with ease of news posting and extra pages.
For a semi-personal site, this uses several stock images and a CSS menu to brighten things up. News integrated.
ajaxPR
Another Ajax site, which shows page rank as well as backlinks and other information on the site you input.
Full XHTML/CSS design, PHP and Ajax coding.
EasyMazuma
EasyMazuma is a website where users can complete simple offers, and in return they recieve cash rewards from the site owner.
The backend is PHP and mySQL, and fully integrated into the popular bulletin board myBB. The site also has a seperate admin panel to manage each and every offer, and the users' earnings and requests.
